What is Vibe Coding Bootcamp?
The Vibecoding Bootcamp is a practical introduction to building with AI. Across three sessions, you’ll work in a team to create your own vibe coding agency, complete with a website and logo, before developing a simple product using Lovable.
Your challenge: build something that could improve people’s lives. Use AI-assisted research to find a real problem, build a working prototype and test how to reach your first users.
Throughout the bootcamp, you’ll explore three questions:
- Whose life could this improve, and how?
- Why would they use it?
- Why would they share it?
No coding experience or startup idea is required.
Why We’re Doing This
Imperial’s Science for Humanity strategy connects knowledge, innovation and entrepreneurship with real-world benefit.
This bootcamp gives you a practical place to start. You’ll work with people from different backgrounds, investigate a problem and use AI to turn an idea into something people can try. Along the way, you’ll practise checking evidence, testing assumptions and learning from feedback.
What You’ll Learn
- Create a simple agency website and logo.
- Use AI-assisted research to investigate problems and check original sources.
- Define your users and write a clear value proposition.
- Build and test a working prototype in Lovable.
- Plan how to reach your first 20 users and encourage sharing.
- Explain your idea, evidence and next steps in a 2-minute pitch.
When and Where
- Dates: 23, 24 and 26 November.
- Times: 10:00–15:00 each day.
- Format: Approximately four hours of activities daily, plus a 45-minute lunch and short breaks.
- Location: Online via Zoom.
- Tools: Lovable, Strategyzer and Mentimeter.
The Three-Day Flow
Day 1: Find the Vibe
Form your team and create a simple agency website and logo.
Use AI-assisted research to explore problems people describe in public discussions and reviews. Check the original sources, compare opportunities and choose a specific group to help.
You could explore wellbeing, sustainability, learning, accessibility or community life. Your idea can be small, provided the benefit is clear.
Define your value proposition, identify your biggest assumption and plan where to find your first users.
→ Output: Agency website, a problem supported by initial research, a value proposition and a plan to reach 20 potential users.
Day 2: Build the Vibe
Turn your idea into a short product brief and build a working prototype in Lovable. Guided demonstrations and team activities will help you focus on one useful experience.
Test whether people understand and can use it. Consider who might struggle or be left out, improve the prototype and prepare an experiment to test an important assumption.
→ Output: Working prototype, initial testing insights and a simple experiment.
Day 3: Share the Vibe
Create a short demo, post or visual that explains your product’s benefit. Share it through an appropriate channel and gather early responses where possible.
Make your final improvements, add the product to your agency website and deliver a 2-minute pitch. Explain who it helps, what you’ve learned and what you would test next.
→ Output: Promotional content, a live product pitch and feedback from the judges.
Team Setup
Join solo or with friends. We’ll form teams at the beginning of Day 1, bringing together different skills and perspectives.
Your team will work as a vibe coding agency, with the product as your first project. No idea needed: you’ll discover one together.
What You’ll Leave With
- Your team’s agency website and AI-built prototype.
- A value proposition supported by initial research.
- Testing insights and a plan to reach your first 20 users.
- Promotional content and a 2-minute pitch.
- Access to your team’s Strategyzer workspace and templates.
- A certificate of completion from Imperial Enterprise Lab.
Who It’s For
Students from any background, including science, design, medicine, engineering, business and humanities.
If you’re curious about entrepreneurship, AI tools or creative collaboration, you’re welcome. No coding or prior startup experience is needed.
What to Expect
Expect short demonstrations, practical exercises and plenty of team building time. Keep your idea focused, be willing to change it and arrive ready to experiment.
You’ll learn to distinguish evidence from assumptions and explain how you would know whether your product helps. The core activities fit within the scheduled sessions, with optional testing between days.
The Pitch & Prizes
Each team will deliver a 2-minute live pitch and demonstrate its prototype. Judges will look for:
- A clear problem supported by initial research.
- A focused solution with a credible benefit for its users.
- Evidence of testing, learning and improvement.
- Thoughtful use of AI and consideration of accessibility.
- A realistic plan to reach users and encourage sharing.
- Clear communication and teamwork.
Prizes will recognise promising ideas and thoughtful experimentation. We’ll also introduce relevant Enterprise Lab support for teams who want to continue.
What You’ll Need
- A laptop or desktop computer with a camera and microphone.
- Reliable internet and a modern web browser.
- Accounts for the tools listed in the joining instructions, set up before Day 1.
- Curiosity and a willingness to collaborate.
