Inspiring the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs

Launched inOctober 2016, the Enterprise Lab is a team and centre that’s dedicated to inspiring, educating and nurturing the next generation of student entrepreneurs at Imperial College London.

Our mission is to give all students the opportunity to develop the entrepreneurial skills, mid-set and networks they need to translate ground breaking ideas into real-world impacts – be it creating a new product, launching a new startup venture or leading a new initiative within an existing organisation – for the benefit of society as a whole.

The Lab offers Imperial students free access to a range of extra-curricular entrepreneurship programmes, competitions, and events, as well as 2,000 square feet of co-working space. our team connect student entrepreneurs to the expertise they need to advance their ventures. This includes mentoring with industry experts, business coaching, pitch performance training and expert guidance.

What makes the Enterprise Lab unique?

Imperial is consistently ranked as a world leading university for science, technology, engineering and medicine (STEM). This attracts top STEM talent from around the world. The Enterprise Lab rings together students with completely different knowledge bases and technical backgrounds to work on ground-breaking commercial ideas.

The diverse range of activities we run cater for the complete entrepreneurial beginner, through to those on their second or even third startup idea. As we look to reach more students, we’re constantly exploring new opportunities to transform the knowledge and skills of the wider student population. Our Student Society Fund gives support and advice to any Imperial society developing its entrepreneurial spirit, skills and related events.

Seeing the underrepresentation of women in business and leadership, and that trend reflected in Imperial’s entrepreneurial competitions, we created the WE Innovate programme to support female entrepreneurs at the start of their journey.
